On Sunday, February 9, 2020, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on suspect Gino Branch, 41 years of age, of the 6300 block of Chatham Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri 63133, for one count of Murder in the Second Degree, two counts of Armed Criminal Action, one count of Domestic Assault First Degree, two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and one count of Tampering with Physical Evidence in a Felony Prosecution. Branch is being held on $1,000,000 “cash only” bond. No mugshot of Branch is currently available. Please note, charges are merely an accusation and the Defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.


The probable cause statement reads: The defendant and the victim were in a relationship, resided together, and had children in common.  The defendant shot the victim and the victim’s daughter, 17 years of age.  The defendant picked up spent shell casings and threw them in the trash.  The defendant told two children, 6 years of age, who were in the residence at the time of the shootings, to put on their coats and get in the car with him.  Suspect drove to Valley Park, MO, where he placed the firearm used in the shootings into a bag and threw it into a dumpster.  The defendant then drove to Troy, IL, to a convenience store, where he stated he killed two people in North County.   

Detectives from the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons are conducting the investigation.
