Mr. Anthony (Tony) Thompson was appointed to the Board in December 2024.  

Thompson is the President and CEO of Kwame Building Group, Inc. which he founded in 1991. The construction management firm, headquartered in St. Louis, has offices in eight states. Thompson earned his Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with a Construction Management Major from Washington University and his Master of Business Administration Degree in Finance from Webster University.

In addition, he holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architectural Engineering as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Design from the University of Kansas. He also has received honorary doctorate degrees and Distinguished Alumni Awards from Washington University, University of Kansas as well as Webster University.

“I am proud to serve in a capacity that honors my family, who dedicated their lives to law and order and justice for all,” Thompson said. “My dad was a military police officer. My youngest brother is an attorney, and my late brother was a dedicated police officer for 20 years. My time in the FBI Citizens Academy taught me the dedication and passion shown by the brave men and women that serve.”
